한우 암소와 씨수소의 도체형질을 이용한 유전적 개량량 추정

2021
This study was estimated annual genetic gains by using EBV of Hanwoo cow and sire, and the level of improvement of the current Hanwoo population group was identified and used as a basic data for the future direction of Hanwoo improvement. For this study, 970,567 animals of slaughtered data in Korea Institute for Animal Products Quality Evaluation (KAPE) from Hanwoo farm No. 4,040 were selected as samples taken 10 times and animals raised and slaughtered in Hanwoo Farm from 2009 to 2019. The Korea Animal Improvement Association (KAIA) selected steers registered as pedigree to missing and abnormal values, excluded records other than 27 to 32 months of slaughter age from the analysis, and used 1,391,141 animals data for analysis. For the analysis of data, the carcass weight (CW), eye muscle area (EMA), backfat thickness (BF) and marbl ing score (MS) were used. As a resul t of the estimation, the regression coefficients for improvement trends of CW, EMA, BF, and MS averaged 0.44㎏, 0.197㎠, -0.051㎜, and 0.034 points per year in Data 1, and 0.35㎏, 0.22㎠, 0.06㎜, and 0.04 points in Data 2, respectively. In Data 2, the improvement trend of sire was 1.54㎏, 0.343㎠, -0.045㎜, and 0.050, while the cow and sire were 1.19㎏, 0.119㎠, -0.014㎜, and 0.010 points. The standard deviation of estimated breeding values was used to estimate genetic gain, and the selection strength of the cows was calculated from the progeny steer carcass trait data and frequency and ratio of the cow reported. The selection period of Hanwoo cows was divided into those based on before 3 parity and those based on after 4 parity, and the selection intensity was applied. As a result, the genetic gain per generation was 5.04㎏, 1.31㎠, 0.71㎜, 0.32 score, respectively, in CW, EMA, BF and MS when the cow was selected before the 3 parity. Annual genetic gain of cows above 4 parity were found to be 2.67㎏, 0.70㎠, 0.38㎜, 0.17 score, respectively, in CW, EMA, BF, MS. Based on these results, it is believed that a breeding plan will be needed to estimate the exact breeding values in the current Hanwoo cow group and to increase the genetic gain.
