Ajuste Coordinado de Controladores de Sistemas Eléctricos de Potencia para Mejora de la Estabilidad Angular y de Tensión usando Algoritmos Genéticos

2013
This paper proposes a coordinated tuning methodology based on Genetic Algorithms (GA), to find optimal values for Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) and Power System Stabilizers (PSS) parameters, which control the excitation system of each generator unit from a multi-machine Electric Power System (EPS); and simultaneously, to optimize the parameters of a group of Static Var Compensators (SVC). The AVR and PSS reduce rapidly electromechanical oscillations, while the SVC improve the voltage profile of the EPS. The parameters considered for tuning are: the AVR and PSS gains, as well as the parameters from the PSS compensation blocks, and the dynamic parameters of the SVC regulator block. The GA were used because of its well known efficacy for global optimization of complex mathematical functions, which represent the physical performance of real dynamic systems. The coordinated tuning procedure was applied on a medium size EPS, obtaining satisfactory numerical results, that show the efficacy of the proposed methodology.
