Headrest assembly for a vehicle seat assembly

2006
A headrest arrangement for a vehicle seat assembly comprises a rod which is operatively connected to a vehicle seat and allows for the same vertical movement relative. The rod includes a control arm, a follower arm and an interposed contoured cross member. Each of the legs has a connecting end and an offset portion between the connecting end and the contoured cross-member. The head restraint assembly further comprises a cushion which is fixed to the rod. The offset parts arrange a part of the bar and the contoured cross member closer to a seat occupant in order to allow positioning a predetermined portion of the cushion relative to the same and to reduce the head displacement substantially during a collision at the rear end of the vehicle.
