Foetal weight estimation.

1972
Summary Correlation was sought between the development of the foetal skeleton, the weight of the baby and gestation period. It has been shown that heavier babies of longer gestation do show more advanced skeletal maturation, but there are wide confidence bounds to the fitted trend lines, and the assessment of gestation period and foetal weight by this method is not highly accurate. It is probably correct to within one month of gestation. There is unacceptable error in assessing foetal weight from bone development.
