This work's purpose is to introduce the Archive Section's team and work of the Medical and State Archive Service - SAME, at the Hospital da Mulher Prof. Dr. Jose Aristodemo Pinotti - Complete Care Center for Women's Health - CAISM / UNICAMP. The team, made up by 19 employees, is responsible for keeping, preserving and making records available for outpatient visits, hospitalizations and researches, besides of examination archive and other customer records' documents. With an archive of approximately 276,060 items, among records and imaging examinations, it serves a demand of approximately (2014 data) 86,905 outpatient medical visits; 8,355 hospitalizations and 4,129 surgeries, in the following medical specialties: Obstetrics, Gynecology, Oncology and Neonatology. The section has a team (Record Review) responsible for record care, checking the insertions of documents created by physicians and multidisciplinary team, according to standards set by the Record Review Committee, which acts to ensure the confidential, ethical and legal aspects of the record information. The section is also responsible for the physical preservation (prevention against paper damage). Due to the big movement and creation of new records, the team aims to improve efficiency, and lean on the Sectorial Archive Committee's support, which recently prepared a Temporality Table, still waiting for approval. Storage methods are also researched, in order to contain the document explosion within the hospital.
