THE PHOTOPRODUCTION REACTION $sup 69$Ni($gamma$,$pi$to the minus) $sup 68$Cu

The cross section for the reaction Ni/sup 60/ ( gamma , pi /sup -/) Cu/ sup 60/ was measured using bremsstrahlung having maximum energies from 120 to320 Mev. Radiochemical separation techniques were used to separate the Cu/sup 60/ from the other activities produced by the irradiation. Results indicate that the reaction is due predominanly to surface production. (auth)
