A New Li-Al Pair Luminescence in ZnSe

The luminescence spectra of Li and Al codoped ZnSe crystals have been investigated. In these crystals, a new luminescence band is observed around 490 nm. Time-resolved spectra and the excitation power dependence of this emission indicate that this originates from the transitions between donor-acceptor pairs. Furthermore, it seems reasonable that this is related to a new complex acceptor center consisting of substitutional and interstitial Li ions.
