A method for detecting and tracking of point targets in an optronic surveillance system.

2004
Treatment process optronic images, to ensure detection of point targets and monitor the track of each target detected in the indicated images by creating and validating tracks hypothesis from points detected in an observed image, comprising a hypothesis track at least one detected point comprising said process for each observed image, a step of detecting (4) points in the image, comprising a partition of the image observed into a plurality of homogeneous zones, being a homogeneous area an area on which a uniformity criterion defined by a function determined radiometric distribution, the calculation for each pixel of the image observed of a relationship between signal and noise (RSB) corresponding relation to the homogeneous zone in which it is checked the indicated pixel, and comparing the signal-to-noise ratio calculated with a detection threshold (thd), such that a point to a pixel in the image is detected if the signal-to-noise ratio calculated for this pixel is greater than or equal to indicated detection threshold, and for each detected point, the determination of a set (Ek) of comparison thresholds associated with said point comprising said set one or more pluralities of thresholds, with the indicated comparison thresholds greater than or equal to said detection threshold (thd), a validation step tracks hypothesis comprising for each detected point, a stage of application of a validation of the hypothesis track associated with that point, with the stated criterion validation function thresholds comparison associated with each of the points of the hypothesis track.
