Synthesis of resin

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently synthesizing a polymer (a resin) having a narrow molecular weight distribution, and having a content of an introduced compound derived from a prescribed monomer larger than a prescribed value under good control in a short time at a high yield. SOLUTION: The method for synthesizing the resin involves regulating the boiling point of (D) an organic solvent so as to be ≥120°C in the polymerization of a system comprising (A) an ethylenically unsaturated monomer, (B) a radical source, (C) a molecular weight regulator of a thiocarbonylthio compound, and (D) the organic solvent.
