A Design for an Anti-static Wrist Strap Wireless Monitoring System in a Smart Factory.

2018
Electrostatic protection is a basic requirement for general electronics factories, so these factories require an anti-static wrist strap system. However, since the staff on specific production lines generally work with their hands, often anti-static wrist straps retain poor contact. As a result, it is quite possible to cause anti-static wrist strap monitors to misjudge. Once the current anti-static wrist strap status is lost, the whole production line is under high risk, and this may lead to numerous losses. This research has a twofold focus. The first goal is to design anti-static wrist strap sensing hardware that will integrate with a specific ion-fan and infrared sensors. After the sensed data are collected, the second goal is to transmit that data to the back-end database via wireless communication, in order to verify whether the specified working guidelines have been followed. Finally, experimental results show that the new system’s false alarm rate is 0.23%, which is an improvement over the false alarm rate of traditional systems, and related research results can be a useful reference for constructing smart factories.
