An Optimal Control Design of Organic Ranking Cycle Under Disturbances

A mechanistic nonlinear model of ORC is developed to predict the dynamic characters and an optimization problem of optimal control design is proposed to attain the optimal operating set-points and controller parameters simultaneously, which aims to maximize the waste heat recovery and guarantee the safe operation in the presence of disturbances. The performance comparison between optimal control design and conventional control design reflects the advantage of the optimal control design.
