ThegrowthofRDF datamakesitimperative thatan efficient mechanism forbulk-loading RDF graphs besupported. Thus,thepaperproposes abulk-load schemethatallows fast loading ofarbitrarily largeRDF graphsintoa database. Specifically, three modesofloadaresupported: i)loading into an emptyRDF graph, ii) appending toanon-empty RDF graph, and iii) concurrent loads intomultiple graphs. Thebulk-load scheme is implemented as partof OracleDatabaseSemantic Technologies andtheperformance experiments conducted witha variety ofRDF graphs(fromUniProt andsynthesized dataof Lehigh University Benchmark) demonstrate thescalability ofthe approach. Thepaperoutlines thechallenges involved inbulk- loading oflarge RDF graphs, describes thebulk-load scheme, discusses its implementation, andpresents aperformance study.
