The invention relates to a switching device of a switchable gear (3). The switching device comprises a mechanical link (2) between an operable by a driver's manual shift lever (1) and the transmission (3), by means of which a shift force (f_s) of the driver to a switching device (11) of the transmission (3) is transferable. In addition, the switching device comprises a sensor (4) for detecting a driver's shift request and a shift actuator (6), by means of which the switching force (f_s) of the driver with an additional shift force (F_Z) is superimposed. According to the invention, the shift actuator (6) is designed as an electromagnetic linear actuator by means of which the switching force (f_s) of the driver with the additional shift force (F_Z) can be superimposed without contact via an electromagnetic field.
