The Solution of the Problem of the Delay Determination in the Information Transmission and Processing in the LEO Satellite Internet of Things System

2019
The issues of the Low-Earth-orbit (LEO) Satellite Internet of Things (IoT) System construction based on the Distributed Satellite architecture with Nano-satellites / CubeSats and the Fog Computing concept application have been considered. For the Fog Computing realization, Satellite-Computers are comprised into each Distributed Satellite. Satellite-Computers form the Orbital Distributed Computing Network. The correlation between the parameters of the Satellite System Constellation and the IoT data transmission and processing delay value in the Orbital Distributed Computing Network has been considered. The Distributed Localized Database has been proposed to be placed on the basis of the Orbital Distributed Computing Network. The Generalized Database Structure and its Conservative and Operational parts purpose were defined. Data transfer directivity through the Orbital Segment of the LEO Satellite IoT System was considered for the Localized Database Operational part update and for the Computational Load balancing through the Orbital Distributed Computing Network. The parameters influence of the Orbital Segment of the LEO Satellite IoT System on the Computational Load balancing through the Orbital Distributed Computing Network has been shown. Analytical expressions are given to evaluate the expected round trip time and processing of IoT information in the LEO Satellite IoT System, as well as to form an Information Processing Priority Criterion for the overload balancing, based on the Accaptable Delay Value of processing of IoT Service Information, which is a critical parameter of each IoT Service.
