HADRONIC VACUUM POLARISATION IN g - 2 AND αQED

The status of the hadronic vacuum polarisation contributions to g - 2 of the muon and to the running QED coupling is briefly reviewed. The role of recent hadronic cross section measurements and remaining puzzles are discussed.
