In Colombia almost 1,000 new cases of melanomas occur in all locations, Besides representing about 10% of all skin cancers are treated in the Institute National Cancer this form of skin cancer is the most lethal form of all deaths from skin neoplasms . Risk factors for development clearly know of the most common types of melanoma in the world , however, the unknown Risk factors for type acral lentiginous melanoma , which is the most common type of melanoma in our country but less common in other countries have handled the factors risk by analogy to this case , no global study that identifies the Risk factors for acral lentiginous melanoma, the most common type of melanoma Colombia . Thus , having little knowledge about the etiology is not possible clear mechanisms or actions for prevention and also for the comprehensive approach disease in the country.The sites of occurrence of these lesions has traditionally been theorized by analogy that have to do with sites subject to trauma and this likely way occupational exposures , involving multiple disabilities with all related costs addition to the high mortality of this disease.
