Velocity distribution and skin friction resistance in rectangular ducts
1984
Abstract This paper summarizes analytical and experimental findings about the characteristics of fully-developed flow in smooth-walled rectangular conduits. Results are presented which support the equivalent diameter concept for the single-parameter description of friction effects in turbulent conduit flow, including ducts of large aspect ratio.
