INTERNAL BURNING AND CLINKERING BEHAVIOURS OF DRY COMPACT CARBON CONTAINED CEMENT RAW MEAL PELLETS

2004
Studies on the internal burning and clinkering behaviors of the compact carbon-contained cement raw meal pellets (CCPs) reveal that the CCPs possess an excellent thermal stability with a certain mechanical strength at high temperatures. In respect of that the decomposition of CaCO3 causes the formation of a loose structure of the CCPs with a higher porosity (2 to 3 times higher than that before heating), the compactness CCPs at room temperature would not hinder the external O2 from transferring to and burning with the internal carbon. In addition, a mathematical model for the CCP's gas-solid reaction process under isothermal heating conditions involving heat - mass transfer and chemical reactions among the species gainst a certain structural and enuiromental background was established based on some assumptions of the particle - grain structure, and a corresponding computer program for the model was developed. It is revealed that the calculation results of the model can be agreed with the experimental ones satisfactorily.
