'Alle esche della memoria': la lunga notte di Emilio Tadini

Dedicated to Tadini’s La lunga notte, which narrates sinister episodes from the RSI and the reactions of the Milanese Resistance, this contribution traces biographical memories detectable in the 1987 novel and already burning in the posthumously published poems from the author’s youth. The analysis reveals the influence, both manifest and tacit – and continually disturbing – of events from the Resistance which Tadini himself witnessed, on the narrative architecture and on the stylistic solutions deployed by the novel.
