Practical and Efficient Synthesis of N-Fused Tricyclic Indoles.

A facile four-step sequence for the synthesis of the title compounds is developed involving the N-arylation of piperidinemethanol derivatives with aryl fluorides and an intramolecular Heck coupling as the key steps.
