Objective To explore the impact of Lieberman rehabilitation technique on chronic schizophrenic patients’ quality of life and attitude toward drug-taking. Methods 120 patients diagnosed with chronic schizophrenia were divided into a study group and a control group, 60 for each group. The study group would experience 12 weeks Lieberman rehabilitation training by nurses and therapists, while the control group received routinely rehabilitation training. NOSIE and SQLS were used to assess the performance of all the samples before the study and 4 and 12 weeks after the beginning of the study. Results After intervention, in the study group and control group, the scores of social interest factor in NOSIE were (23.85 ±9.77) and (15.48±8.85) (P<0.01), retardation factor scores (1.22±2.48) and (3.43±3.28) (P< 0.05), the total positive factor scores (88.00±18.14) and (75.19±16.35) (P< 0.05); there was statistical difference in only the energy / motivation factor in SQLS [(24.00±18.60) and (42.50±15.95)] between these two groups (P<0.01); the score of DIA was (6.68±2.39) in the study group and (3.04±4.74) in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Lieberman rehabilitation technique can effectively improve chronic schizophrenic patients’ quality of life and attitude toward drug-taking.
