TRANSIENT HEAT CONDUCTION EXTERIOR TO A CYLINDRICAL SURFACE

An analytical expression is obtained for the temperature surrounding a cylindrical surface of finite length. The boundary condition is that of constant heat flux and the method of solution involves Laplace and Fourier transforms.
