EMBRYONATING CHICKEN AND DUCK EGGS

2016
SUMMARY The distribution and concentration of attenuated duck plague virus inoculated via the chorioallantoic sac of embryonating chicken eggs indicated that the chorioallantoic membrane and amnioallantoic fluid yielded a better virus harvest. Chorioallantoic membrane from virulent-virus-infected embryonating duck eggs yielded high virus titers when inoculated via the chorioallantoic sac or yolk sac. The mortality rates of embryonating chicken and duck eggs respectively inoculated with attenuated and virulent duck plague viruses were assessed.
