Multilayered transition metal complexes of cyclophanes

Abstract The reaction of arene-ruthenium complexes ([RuCl 2 (ν 6 -arene)] 2 ) with [2.2]paracyclophane in the presence of AgBF 4 provides double- and triple-layered arene-ruthenium complexes of [2.2]paracyclophane in excellent yield.
