QUANTITATIVE STUDY ON MICROVASCULARARCHITECTURE OF HIPPOCAMPUS AND CORTEX IN RATS

2008
Objective:To observe and quantitatively analyze the microvascular architecture of hippocam- pus and cortex in rats.Methods:TA-FE method was used to observe the microvascular architecture of hippoc- ampus and cortex of frontal lobe in rats.MiVnt image analytical system was applied to quantitatively analyze the microvessel density (MVD) and the microvessel area density (MVA) of hippocampus and cortex of frontal lobe. Results:The microvessels of cortex of frontal lobe ran verticaly to the surface of the brain into the brain parenchyma, and there were affluent anastomoses between branches. The arteries of hippocampus sent bran- ches after they entered the hippocampus through fissura hippocampi;but there were little anastomoses between hippocampus and surrounding brain tissue. The MVD and MVA of hippocampus were obviously lower than that of cortex of frontal lobe (P0.01).Conclusions:The microvessels of hippocampus are infeiror to cortex of frontal lobe, this maybe one of the reasons that cerebral vascular dementia has dysnoesis in early time.
