A system for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) includes an exhaust tube for receiving an exhaust gas from an engine. the exhaust pipe is provided downstream of a unit for the selective catalytic reduction (SCR). A first mixing element having a mesh body defining a first surface, a second surface and a plurality of extending from the first surface to the second surface extending openings. The first surface and the second surface are parallel to each other and define an angle relative to a flow direction of exhaust gas flow. The angle is smaller than 90 °.
