ANTİ-İNKONTİNANS OPERASYONLARI SONRASI REZİDÜEL İDRAR VOLÜMÜ ÖLÇÜMÜNDE ÜRETRAL KATETERİZASYON İLE ABDOMİNAL ULTRASONOGRAFİNİN KARŞILAŞTIRILMAS
2012
Aim: In this study the accuracy of transabdominal ultrasonography in measuring residual urine volume after anti-incontinence operation was investigated. Material and Methods: Total 74 patients were evaluated between May 2010 and July 2011. Bladder volumes were calculated using three different formulas by the same doctor and ultrasonography, were compared with the values obtained by urethral catheterisation. Results: A good correlation was found between the results of catheter and each of three formulas (R1= 0.962, R2= 0.974, 0.986) by calculating with transabdominal ultrasonography. The mean measurement difference among groups were not statistically significant (p = 0.451). Conclusion: Transabdominal ultrasonography is a reliable method in measuring residual urine volume after anti-incontinence operation. The used three formu- las don’t have superiority or difference to each other. Transabdominal ultrasonograhy is an alternative method to measurement by catheter.
