PROPIEDADES PSICOMÉTRICAS DE LA ESCALA DE PREFERENCIAS VESPERTINIDAD/MATUTINIDAD EN UNA MUESTRA MULTIOCUPACIONAL DE TRABAJADORES VENEZOLANOS PSYCHOMETRIC PROPERTIES OF THE EARLY/LATE PREFERENCES SCALE IN A SAMPLE OF VENEZUELAN WORKERS

2012
The chronopsychology is defined as the study of the rhythms and cycles of psychological and behavioral processes. Was referenced in the literatures at least two chronotypes: morningness and eveningness; which led to the creation of measurement instruments that emphasize on the preferences for the realization of conduct or behavior during certain times of the day. The aim of this study is to analyze the psychometric properties of the ‘preferences scale morningness/ eveningness’ in a multi-occupational sample of workers in Caracas. It was used a group of 521 participants, balanced by sex and the economic sector where they work, so as to ensure heterogeneity in the characteristics of the group. The results show satisfactory internal consistency (reliability) and construct validity in the instrument when delete item no 2. Finally, the authors show a proposal for the establishment of the classification standard of each psychological chronotype, which was absent in previous research in this study.
