EXPERIMENTAL PERFORMANCE OF SOME HYDROACOUSTIC TRANSIENTS HIGHER-ORDER CUMULANT DETECTORS FOR
1993
We quantify the performance of broadband second-, third-, and fourth-order cumulant and moment based detectors applied to hydroacoustic transients tmnsmitled through shallow water. Through simulations on real data we obtain probabilities of detection as a function of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR for chosen false 5 dB the overall performance of the fourth-order detectors is superiour to that of the second-order (energy) and third-order detector. alarm rates.
