Specific topics included the prevalence and history of ADHD, various treatment options, psychosocial effects, growth and development, and specific nursing interventions. A combination of a powerpoint presentation, poster presentation, and handouts were used to educate a Mental Health class at the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing. Based on the pre-test and post-test, the information provided successfully educated the class on proper nursing interventions for ADHD and overall disease process. The audience participated in both the pre-test and post-test and followed up the presentation with appropriate questions, reflections, and feedback.
