Sexual Selection and the Role of Intrafamily Relations in the Realization of the Adaptive Potential in Mammals

The article discusses the morphophysiological and behavioral “congruences” that determine relationships in family triads between mother and offspring, females and males, and same-sex members. The role of congruences in the realization of reproductive potential and the development of adaptability in offspring is analyzed and discussed with respect to data obtained in small Siberian rodents through natural monitoring and laboratory investigation.
