Technology Survey of Long Term Investors: Document Management
2016
A Survey of Long Term Investors was conducted from July 8th, 2016 to August 11th, 2016, to better understand the state of Document Management within investment offices of Long Term Investors. The result indicated an extreme reliance on traditional/outdated solutions with low levels of satisfaction.
On average, the respondents have a document repository that contains 27k documents, spend $19k per year for that technology, and incur a cost $0.72 cents per document per year.
Long Term Investors rely heavily on saving all file types to retain their corporate memory, yet their chief complaints are based on the complexity of manual tagging for saving these files, and on the difficulty and speed of extracting (e.g., finding) the stored knowledge.
A framework for Document Management Satisfaction Index is proposed.
