This paper tells the story of a blog that has been a repository in virtual space since 2005 for a series of short essays about health � health, a word at once so familiar and yet so remote, so riddled with enigma and yet so silent, a word that has enclosed so many different concepts throughout the cultural development of the peoples of the world. The story is told with a certain detachment by its author, an emeritus professor of surgery in the University of Barcelona who, since his retirement from academic life, has devoted all his works and time to thinking from the body about the body, about health and disease, about happiness and unhappiness.
