The invention discloses a method for design optimization of power plant cables based on equipment distributed arrangement. The measures adopted in the method are as follows: performing distributed arrangement of electronic equipment rooms, namely arranging electronic equipment rooms of a power plant in a distributed way, so as to shorten a distance between an equipment cabinet of a distributed control system DCS and on-site equipment and to reduce the consumption of cable bridges and cables; setting a remote input/output (I/O) station: setting a remote I/O station on a place where detecting points are relatively concentrated and a relatively long distance is kept with the electronic equipment room, thus connecting with the on-site equipment in distributed arrangement through the remote I/O station, such that cable paths are dispersed and uniformly distributed, so as to reduce the consumption of the cable bridges and the cables; setting an on-site junction box and a power distribution panel. The method, through the distributed arrangement, can be used for shortening the distance between the equipment cabinet of DCS and the on-site equipment, and reducing the consumption of the cables and the cable bridges, so that the cables are more uniform and dispersive in distance distribution, cables and cable laying expenses are reduced, and layout of the plant is more compact; moreover, emission of poisonous and harmful substances is reduced as well.
