Das Grünland des Ökologischen Landbaus in Bayern Ergebnisse aus dem Grünlandmonitoring Bayern

2017
The Bavarian Grasslandmonitoring (Bavarian grassland survey) included more than 6000 grassland sites of different farming intensities and geographical and climatic conditions in the first survey 2002-2008. Substantial information on species number and composition was provided in a high spatial resolution. To investigate the changes in vegetation, 2485 of the vegetation surveys were repeated between 2009 and 2012, 350 of them with organic farming. On each plot of 25 m² the species composition and the proportion of total yield of each species were documented. On average 20 species were recorded per 25 m² plot; a total number of 632 plant species was found all over the 2485 grassland plots. Comparing the first and the second survey the grassland vegetation showed only few changes in species composition on average. The mean species number per 25 m² plot remained at 20 species on average of all plots. Plots without any agri-environment scheme showed an average species number of 17 and the plots with organic farming a number of 21 at both repetitions. Thus, species number on organic grassland was clearly higher than on grassland without any schemes and slightly higher than the average.
