Image reading apparatus and method the same

An image reading apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to prevent distortion of a scanned image in a section where a paper transfer speed is temporarily changed. An automatic paper feeding device(10) transfers paper. A scanning module(80) scans an image of the paper transferred by the automatic paper feeding device. A driving module(240) moves the scanning module. If a temporary change of paper transfer speed is needed when scanning, a control unit(200) moves a location of the scanning module in transfer direction of the paper. If a temporary change of the paper transfer speed is needed, the control unit temporarily stops a scan operation of the scanning module.
