A mathematical model and investigation of processes of heating, reflowing, and ablation of the material of a shell of revolution in an aerodynamic flow

A statement and finite-difference solution to the nonstationary calculation problem of temperature fields of a shell of revolution in the high-temperature aerodynamic flow with the specified temperature and heat transfer of the flow at points of the external surface of the shell are considered. With these prerequisites, algorithms and a Fortran program for the calculation of the temperature fields with consideration for ablation by the surface layers of the shell were designed. The possibility of using these calculations for evaluating the carrying ability of a shell under specified heat exchange conditions in a specified time interval is shown based on these examples
