Renal involvement in toxic epidermal necrolysis

1996
Toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) is a drug-induced life-threatening disease characterized by extensive epidermal detachment, necrosis, and mucosal erosion. 1 Multisystemic involvement usually contributes to the poor prognosis. 2 Hepatic, hematologic, pulmonary, and intestinal involvement have all been documented, 3,4 but renal involvement has seldom been reported. 5,6 The purpose of this prospective study was to investigate renal involvement in TEN by means of noninvasive methods.
