Studies on flower production in marigold in response to iron and zinc

A field experiment was conducted to study the flower production of marigold ‘F1 Hybrid Orange ’in response to iron and zinc during rabi season of the year 2016–17 at Horticulture Section, College of Agriculture, Nagpur. There were seven treatments arranged in Randomized Block Design with three replications. Foliar application of 0.5% zinc followed by 0.5% iron recorded earliest first flower bud initiation and 50 per cent flowering, along with significantly maximum vegetative growth, plant height, number of flowers plant−1, flower yield ha−1 flower diameter, weight of flower and longevity of intact flower.
