An experiment in medical and surgical collaboration; the gastrointestinal unit.

This experiment of ours is of the nature of a pilot study, and it is as such that we have regarded it and contribute this necessarily brief account. The Unit is, of course, in its infancy, but already we ourselves and our assistants have derived a considerable benefit from the free interchange of ideas and skills and experience. We are even more convinced now than at the start of our venture that it represents a pattern of organization that has much to commend it in the specialized clinical medicine of today.
