Rydberg States of CCl

Abstract The absorption spectrum of CCI has been observed on SUPERACO in Orsay (France) in a microwave discharge in He + CCl 4 down to 1050 A. The B 2 Σ + state observed by Melen et al. ( J. Phys. B: Atom. Mol. Phys. 16, 2523-2530 (1983)) has been confirmed. Nineteen states have been classified into five Rydberg series converging to 9.051 ± 0.002 eV.
