Neutralizing Efficacy of Neutralizers for Compound Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate and Biquaternary Ammonium Iodine

2006
In order to evaluate the efficacy of compound sodium dichloroisocyanurate powder and biquaternary ammonium iodine solution, suspension quantitative germicidal tests were carried out to assess two neutralizers. The results showed that compound neutralizerⅠ(composed of 3% tween-80,0.5% sodium thiosulfate) and compound neutralizer Ⅲ(composed of 3% tween-80,0.5% sodium sulfite anhydrous and appropriate amount of(lecithin)) had significant efficacy in neutralizing sodium dichloroisocyanurate and biquaternary ammonium iodine, respectively.Furthermore, there were no significant favorable or unfavorable effects of the two neutralizers and their neutralizing products on the growth of Staphylococcus aureus. Therefore,it is concluded that neutralizerⅠand neutralizer Ⅲ can be used in the identification of germicidal efficacy of sodium dichloroisocyanurate powder and biquaternary ammonium iodine solution.
