Necesidades en el Contexto Familiar: Una Mirada desde la Perspectiva de los Niños

This article presents the results of a study made in the municipal schools of the county of Canete, VIII Region – Chile, in reference of the needs existing in the families, as perceived by the children. The study was undertaken in the context of a program of teacher’s training in affective development in order to give them a tool for a better knowledge of their students, to gather information, a systematic analysis of it, and, formulate intervention strategies from it. Findings show that at this stage of development of the students, the presence and form taken by the different types of needs have a notorious weigh. The valuable information collected and the answer of the teachers to it, support the importance of training teachers, specially those that work in the low income areas, in the area of affective development. This evidence, pointing out the existing relation between affective development, resiliency and scholar development, makes this working methodology a contribution to reach a better quality in education.
