A Probe into Iris Young's Multicultural Theory of Citizenship and Citizenship Education

Unity and pluralism become the two trends of the world' s development in the global era. The multicultural citizenship education theory represented by Young has been given much notice in the theory and practice of citizenship education since the late twentieth century. The universality versus difference and homogeneity verses heterogeneity are the two sets of contradictions that should not be neglected in citizenship education in the multicultural era.
