Kinetics and mechanism of the reaction of xenon tetroxide with hydrogen

The dependence of the rate of the reaction of XeO 4 with H 2 at room temperature on the concentrations of the reagents H 2 and XeO 4 and diluent gases He, O 2 , and CO 2 is investigated. A reaction mechanism that includes the stages involving vibrationally excited OH radicals is proposed to explain different effects of additives.
