Maíces nativos en estrategias alimentarias campesinas feminizadas frente al cambio climático. Debates biocientíficos y ecofeminismo crítico

2014
This paper reflects on the need to develop a social conscience to the great crises related to food and nutrition security of rural and indigenous communities. Communities that produce and consume native corn as part of their livelihood strategies and who have experienced the phenomenon of feminization in rural Mexico, and live the consequences of climate change. The purpose of this paper is to open a discussion on the need for dialogue between conservationists and biotech positions in bioscience debates, positioned to provide solutions to the problems from future scenarios on the basis of global warming. From phenomenology as a method of construction of reality, we formulated two questions for each position of bioscience discussions, which seek to answer from critical ecofeminism. We conclude that a third way must emerge, allowing the development of consciousness towards social change.
