Preoperative nursing of the elderly with pheochromocytoma

2002
The author in this paper reports preoperative nursing of the elderly with pheochromocytoma. By studying the elderly physical characteristics and the pathological and physical characteristics of pheochromocytoma, the author proposes that psychological nursing should be performed by providing them with service "like in hotel"; their blood pressure and pulse be monitored, arrhythmia corrected and blood volume expanded before operation; hypertension and postural hypotension should be prevented. Perfect and systematic examinations, treatment and nursing of the elderly with pheochromocytoma are key to the success in operation by reducing operation risks and help them live through operation.
