High cell density culture of lactic acid bacteria starter

This paper studied on the high cell density culture of Lactobacillus spp., and discussed the effects of cultural condition (temperature,inoculation capacity and initial pH) and media composition. The optimal culturing conditions were developed ,following:1% maltose, 1% lactose,1.0% beef extract,0.5% buffer salt A,0.25% sodium chloride, 0.1%magnesium sulfate, (pH6.5),4% inoculation capacity. Then high cell density culture was explored with one semi-continuous way and obtained the cells population over 1.1×10~(12)CFU/mL for 16 hours based on the optimal condition.
