Vehicle Security and Alert System, Based on Facial Recognition and GPS Location

This article presents the design of a vehicle security and alert system implemented in a Raspberry PI B plus. The system is based on facial recognition using OpenCV and Local Binary Pattern algorithm (LBP) to identify the driver, the system interacts with car´s owner by instant messaging and email through alerts, which contain driver picture, car location obtains by GPS and the fact that produces the alert.
