Mode of Anther Dehiscence in Kigelia pinnata (Jacq.) DC

Kigelia pinnata speculated to show late acting self incompatibility was subjected to critical observational analysis of its floral biology and it was found that the mechanism of anther opening varies within the anthers of a single flower and between the flowers of the same tree. The present study indicates that the mechanism of pollen presentation is likely to be significant for the successful pollination in this tree species.
